PASTOR
Nathan Whittaker
Pastor Nate Whittaker serves as the pastor of Golf Road Baptist Church. After graduating from Trinity International University, he served for two years as a field missionary in Romania before returning to the Chicago area to undergo pastoral training at Bethel Baptist Church and serve in student life leadership at Schaumburg Christian School. Nate is certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and he is currently completing his Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
In June 2026, Golf Road Baptist Church called Pastor Nate to lead the congregation, where his ministry focuses on verse-by-verse, expositional, Christ-centered preaching and intentional shepherding. He seeks to serve the church through preaching, discipleship, and biblical counseling. He is also an active partner with local, like-minded pastors across the area through the Chicagoland Gospel Network.
Nate and his wife, Maria, have been married for eight years and live in Elgin with their four children – Emory (6), Jack (4), Callan (3), and Madelyn (1). Outside of ministry, Nate is a life-long student, reader, chess fan, and loyal Chicago Cubs supporter. He loves just about any competitive sport, especially playing pickleball and disc golf!
